Only took 1 win for Dak Prescott to become the man in Dallas

Dak Prescott should keep Tony Romo on the bench.

The rookie quarterback had another impressive game, leading the Cowboys to a 27-23 win at Washington. Prescott completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards, ran for a TD and drove Dallas 80 yards for the winning score late in the fourth quarter.

Prescott has yet to have a turnover in two games. The Cowboys were 1-11 without Romo last season. They’re already 1-1 without him this year. If Prescott continues to play well, many will question whether Romo deserves to start when he returns.

Romo is in the third season of a six-year, $108 million contract. He’s been to four Pro Bowls and had a career year in 2014, his last injury-free season. When he’s healthy, he’ll start.

He’s right about that. Very few who are critical of the protests have actually listened to what he or other players, like Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, have said about it. A lot of people who have yelled so loudly about players kneeling or raising a fist during the anthem haven’t bothered to read about what the players want to see changed, or their motivation behind kneeling during the anthem. Some intentionally mislabel it as an anti-military protest, when the players have gone out of their way to say they respect the military. Marshall has even said he has family members who are veterans and he plans to donate to causes that support veterans.

“One of the things I’ve noticed throughout this is there’s a lot of racism in this country disguised as patriotism,” Kaepernick said, according to CSN Bay Area. “And people want to take everything back to the flag, but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking racial discrimination, inequalities and injustices that are happening across the nation.”

And to think, the Eagles would still be starting Bradford if Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater hadn’t suffered a season-ending injury. That injury caused the Vikings to trade for Bradford. And the Eagles wouldn’t have even had Wentz if the Los Angeles Rams had taken him first over Jared Goff, or if the Cleveland Browns had decided to not trade the second overall pick and take Wentz themselves.

The Eagles have to be very pleased with how it all worked out.

And Prescott’s solid play doesn’t have Jones thinking that the Cowboys can be patient and bring Romo back slowly.

“Not necessarily, not necessarily,” Jones said, according to ESPN.
